SMS communication is still one of the most effective channels for reaching people - both customers (marketing, shipping notifications) and employees (urgent shift replacements on the production floor, HR notifications). Odoo has a great, built-in mechanism for sending text messages. There's just one serious business problem with it: cost.
By default, Odoo uses its own credit system (Odoo IAP). Sending a single SMS in Poland through IAP often costs several dozen grosze. With mass marketing campaigns or hundreds of system notifications, these costs quickly add up.
That's why we created a dedicated module: SMSPlanet SMS Gateway for Odoo. It lets you bypass Odoo's expensive credits entirely and connect the system directly to the Polish operator SMSPlanet.pl.
Why integrate Odoo with your own SMS gateway?

Transparent costs - what does it really cost?
The module lets you sign a contract directly with the SMSPlanet.pl operator (PostPaid model). The minimum monthly fee with the operator is PLN 50 net (this amount is fully available for sending messages).
The rate per individual SMS (with your own sender field) decreases as your monthly sending volume grows:

You don't need a complex technical implementation to start sending cheaper SMS messages. Configuring the module in Odoo (from version 19.0) comes down to a few clicks:
- Go to Settings → Technical → SMS.
- Check the Send via SMSPlanet option.
- Paste your API Token generated in the SMSPlanet panel.
- Enter your approved Sender Name (or use TEST during testing).
- Click Register Webhook so the system automatically receives delivery error information.
Done. From this point on, all outgoing SMS communication from your ERP system will run on your terms and at Polish rates.
