A word of introduction

Hi, welcome to the Adapt IT blog!

If you're here, you're probably running a company, managing a team, or simply looking for ways to improve how you work. And you've come to the right place.

I created Adapt IT to help companies through Odoo implementation, consulting, and development. The company website, though, is a place for hard facts. This blog was created to give a bit of breathing room - to show what goes on behind the scenes of my work, to share thoughts on technology and efficiency, and sometimes just to write something more technical. It'll be a bit more relaxed, but always on topic.

Dawid Gacek - who am I?

My name is Dawid. I'm a developer with many years of experience. My professional path has taken me through various roles and companies, and over the years I've worked not only in programming but also, among other things, in systems and database administration. Technology is my bread and butter.

But work isn't everything. Outside of it, I run 🏃 (mostly 10 and 21 km distances), bake my own bread 🍞, read a lot 📚, and - when time allows - play board games or video games 🎲🎮.

It was long-distance running that taught me something that became the foundation of Adapt IT:

Every serious undertaking is a marathon, not a sprint

This thought cools down that first burst of enthusiasm and lets you calmly analyze a problem step by step, instead of throwing yourself at it without a plan. I believe that in business and technology, this approach is invaluable, though unfortunately increasingly rare.

Why Odoo? Where did the idea for Odoo implementations in Poland come from?

In every company I've worked at, I saw the same pattern: the more a business grows, the bigger the challenges with organization and communication. Sometimes it ended in minor misunderstandings. Other times it led straight to chaos, financial losses, and a frustrated team.

Does this feeling sound familiar?

These problems could go on. To some extent, they'll always exist. But I was convinced there had to be a tool that could reduce them. And that's when I rediscovered Odoo.

I first encountered it several years ago, but only recently did I fully understand its potential. The number of tools you get with Odoo is enormous - it can cover practically every need of an SME. Talking with friends, I was struck by how many of them still run their day-to-day operations on Excel and dozens of separate files. And to be clear - Excel is a fantastic tool! But there comes a moment when it becomes a bottleneck that blocks further growth.

Odoo gives a growing company everything it needs in one place: a website, CRM, project management, sales, warehouse, manufacturing... and thanks to the software's modular structure, you can conveniently build your own add-ons. It's systemic support that lets you regain control over operations and focus on what matters most - growing the business.

That's how Adapt IT was born - out of a combination of my technical skills, a long-distance approach to solving problems, and a deep belief that Polish companies deserve the best tools to help them grow.
